An exciting and informative intensive polo clinic aimed at improving your entire polo performance to be run at La Mariposa Polo Farm, Bradenham, Buckinghamshire : April 25th & 26th and May 2nd & 3rd 2009.
The clinic has been developed to maximise your learning potential during the two days and is structured around developing all the skills necessary to play polo to your full potential. The clinic will be specifically tailored for players with or without any experience and will work on the individual`s needs of the player. The course aims to enhance:
• Safety and security on the horse and on the field.
• Introduction to polo.
• The polo swing - the forehand and backhand shots.
• Riding for polo - how to make the most out of the horses on the field.
• Basic understanding of the Polo Rules.
• Positioning on the field.
• Tips for tactics and strategies of the game.
• Overall knowledge and true understanding of the game.
This will be achieved through:
• Analysis of your current performance.
• Development of an individual plan of action for improvement.
• Theory and practical sessions.
• Development of strategies to improve your confidence.
• Techniques to help improve your ability.
There will no more than 12 participants in every group for the course. Players will be divided into groups depending on their skills and they will work at different times during the day. The times for each group will be confirmed 3 days before the clinic.
Prerequisites:
• No previous riding experience is required for the beginners group.
• A minimum of two horses per player. (Horses can be hired from La Mariposa).
• Helmets and riding gear. (Helmets can be provided by La Mariposa)
