Palo Alto Polo Club has added the Polo Working Holiday to their list of services. For only usd 3.500 per month you can have the polo experience of a lifetime...! You save usd 5.500.
We will give you 4 horses to take care of and accommodation with shared facilities (2 or 3 beds per room, shared bathroom). Food is not included, you have to buy and cook for yourself with your team mates/grooms.
The 4 horses are your responsibility for your entire stay. That means you have to feed them, move them and you are also to use these 4 horses for your own stick and ball and to play your own chukkers. If a horse gets injured or ill or for whatever reason can not play anymore, we can not guarantee a replacement. In general this would mean you can play 3 – 4 times a week (besides the stick & ball).
You have to help mount other players when they play chukkers, when you don´t play. And you will be helped with your horses when you participate in the chukkers yourself.
During low and high season the Pilar area is buzzling with activity. There are so many clubs together that you can watch matches every day. There are also horse auctions organized during seasons. Apart from the polo the Pilar area has quite a famous bar and dance scene, where you can meet other polo players. Pilar is definitely the place to be during high season with it´s peak the first week of december.

I have a pretty 15.2hh thoroughbred mare for sale (loans considered in the right context) who has begun polo training.
She`s a six year old dark bay with clean legs and nice conformation, never raced.
I had been training her for polo when I crashed my car, I can no longer get to her to ride so she has been on turnout for nearly 3 months (but has kept her condition well).
Before the crash she had begun to neckrein nicely and she changes leg nicely on tight circles.
Looking for a permanent home for this friendly young mare with heaps of potential in many different spheres, or a loan home under the right circumstances.
